We are so excited you have chosen to begin your yoga journey with us. Rest assured this is a fabulous idea. Read this guide at your leisure to help you feel comfortable before your first class.
If you think “I can’t do yoga” don’t worry, we teach yoga to people who think they can’t do yoga! The Yoga Nook is a safe place to learn and explore. All of our Yoga teachers hold at least a 200 hour teacher training certificate. You can rest assured your are receiving a safe class every time you come to the studio,
"What if I can't do the poses?" No biggie! skip, soften, and modify any and all postures to fit your body. We encourage you to safely explore but ultimately want you to know you have the freedom to choose what you need that day. Yoga Nook teachers will provide an environment where you will feel comfortable trying new things. We are never in a pose for more than a few breaths so we all eventually catch up with one another.
Our classes are designed for ALL skill levels, beginners encouraged to attend any class. However, some classes are designed intentionally to be more challenging than others. Explore our "Class Type" section under the "About" tab and pick your class.
Schedule classes online under “Schedule” tab or find us on the Mindbody App. We suggest booking your class before you arrive to secure your spot.
Arrive Early for your first class. We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before class for registration and mat set up. We lock the doors when class begins.
What to Bring
We suggest having a Yoga Mat and 2 Yoga Blocks. All props are available for purchase in our fitness boutique. Yoga mat rentals are available for $2
What to wear
Wear what you feel comfortable in. Most people wear work out clothes such as leggings and tanks. Tip- try to wear a top that will not slip up. Those with long hair may want to consider tying it up during class. We have changing rooms and bathrooms available for your use.
Hot Yoga
We have heated and unheated yoga classes. Our heated classes are heated above body temperature, please hydrate before and after class. We suggest not eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before class.
Hydration
Please bring your own water. Water bottles are available for sale in our fitness boutique along with Yoga Nook Water flasks.
What to expect during class
Our classes are done barefoot, we have cubbies for your shoes and belongings. Our teachers are skilled to help you reap the rewards of safe and proper alignment, your teacher will walk around and guide you through out class.
