When we travel we seek soul awakening yoga, movement, healthy food, community, togetherness, connection with Mother Earth, beautiful landscapes, and inspiring moments that can turn into healthy lifestyle changes.
Yoga Nook Owners Sarika and Griffin love to travel and share experiences with others. Sarika’s mother owned a Travel Agency while growing up and took her all around the world for life changing and eye opening experiences. Traveling is natural, familiar and deeply rooted in Sarika's life. Since Griffin and Sarika met they have traveled the world together for yoga, hiking, adventures and unique experiences.
Each Yoga Nook Travel experience has first been tested and experienced by Sarika and Griffin personally to ensure a smooth, verified, and quality trip. When a trip resonates with them and offers a beautiful moment, they then share it with you. Destinations and people are chosen when their mission align with ours- yoga, nature, kindness, delicious food, sustainability, and inspiring moments for healthy lifestyle change.
We want this journey to have an impact on you, so you can bring back what you gain and spread that impact in your home communities. Let us help you press the reset button and get back to the basics of nature and self.

Hiking Information
** Please note, these are not professionally guided hikes. However, we have hiked these routes many times. They are well traveled and contain clear markings. If you choose to participate, this will be at your own risk and free will just as you would hiking a local trail with friends on the weekend. **
Mill Mountain Park (Roanoke Star Trail): This out and back trail offers an overlook view from one of Roanoke's marquis viewpoints, “the star.” At the overlook you will have a view of the surrounding Roanoke valley and can even see the peak of McAfee Knob off in the distance! This is an easy/moderate hike with elevation change of 800ft. We will also have the opportunity to experience this view point from the downtown perspective (looking up into the mountains) on our day filled with friendship, shopping, and gourmet dinner at Lucky Resturant. 3.7miles out and back. This trail is approximately 15 minutes drive from our accommodations. Hike time of 2-2.5 hours.
Cascades National Recreation Area (Cascade Falls): highly scenic trail that meanders along Little Stoney Creek for approximately 2 miles until you reach the majestic 70 foot Cascade Falls. This is a moderately difficult hike with some added technicality due to the rocky terrain (as such, true hiking boots or trail shoes are recommended). We will journey along the creek bed trail taking in the lovely view and sounds of the year round roaring falls, enjoy time at the marquis fall with the opportunity for a cold plunge at the base of the falls or just simply taking in the views. We will trek back to the parking area and share a picnic lunch along the edge of the creek prior to heading back to the retreat house. 4 mi out and back. This trail is approximately 1 hours drive each direction from our accommodations. Hike time of 2.5-3.5 hours.
Appalachian Trail McAfee Knob via Catawba Sustainability Center: This is a challenging/moderately difficult 10.2 mi out and back route to one of the most photographed sections of the Appalachian trail. The view from the knob is truly stunning no matter the time of year. Lucky for us, mid October is peak fall foliage in the Virginia mountains so we will be welcomed at the top with the most picturesque scene of the Appalachian mountains. We will share a lovely lunch at the summit before trekking back to our vehicle and heading back to the retreat house. (Because of the length of this hike it is strongly recommended to utilize a true hiking pack to carry not only your food for the summit but extra clothing layers as conditions at the top will not have protection from the cool fall breeze while we enjoy the views and our lunch.) This trail is approximately 30 minutes drive from our accommodations. Hike time of approximately 5.5-7 hours.
** All hike times include a steady pace with multiple breaks offered. These hikes are not a race, and will be completed in an enjoyable and mindful pace. **
Stay an additional night and learn how to cook a three course, fully vegan meal including salad, entre, and dessert. You’ll have the opportunity to get your hands dirty in the kitchen and learn one of Griffin and Sarika's favorite meals. Wonderful for those looking to learn about vegan cooking or wanting to add more vegetable forward meals to their family’s lives. $300 extra total which includes continued accommodations and cooking lesson. With add on, retreat dates extend to October 16-21, 2024.
Our accommodations are a short 15 minute Uber or Taxi from the airport.
